Introduction: New Wheat Variety Ningchun No.56 (original code name SM-5) was developed by the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center of Ningxia Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences with the cross of Ningchun 4/Ningchun 27. It was bred in the north and reproduced in the south, tested for resistance physiology, and ed by molecular marker-assisted ion. It was approved by the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Variety Committee in 2018.This variety has the characteristics of outstanding heat resistance and drought resistance and high yield potential. Compared with Ningchun No. 4, the yield increased by 13.59% and water use efficiency increased by 13.72% under the condition of reduced irrigation by 30%. It turns yellow and matures with high quality, medium resistance to stripe rust, leaf rust and powdery mildew, good lodging resistance, good drought resistance, high yield, stable yield , adaptability and good grain appearance quality.
