Achievement: Water Security Assessment and Sustainable Utilization in Belt & Road Countries

Introduction: With Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellite data, spatial-temporal characteristics of water resources development and land use change trend are identified, then established the water supply and demand model for comprehensive evaluation of regional water security. Then, the water resources management support system was established by coupling of different strategies to improve water security including water-saving technologies in different sectors, water resources system monitoring and unconventional water use such as rainwater collection, renewable water use and seawater utilization.
