Project Name: New Wine Grape Varieties with High Stress Resistance

Project Owner: Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Project Profile: As one of the earliest institutes that start the research on grape, IBCAS has always been at the forefront of areas of grape breeding. The project involves the varieties of high-resistance and burial-free wine grape “Beihong” and “Beimei”. The adult tree body of these varieties can safely pass the winter in Ningxia without burying soil, saving production cost and contributing to the sustainable development of the vineyard's ecological environment in buried cold-proof areas.  This variety can adjust the fruit traits through cultivation measures to enable the brewing of various types of wines.
