Project Name: Combustion and Emission Characteristics of New Heavy Oil and Its Application in Marine Engines

Project Owner: School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Project Profile: Heavy oil is the main fuel for large ships, but there are some problems such as poor combustion performance and high pollutant emissions. Shanghai Jiao Tong University plans to work with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology to develop new heavy oil fuels, so as to address traditional heavy oil combustion and emissions. The main study contents are as follows: 1. Study on modification and physicochemical properties of heavy oil; 2. Study on combustion characteristics and pollutant emission characteristics of modified heavy oil; 3. Study on combustion and emission characteristics of modified heavy oil in marine engines.
