Achievement: Technology of Canceling Alkali and Water Wash for Sulfuric Acid Alkylation Unit

Introduction: In recent years, with the rapid promotion of domestic product oil quality upgrading, carbon tetraalkylation technology has attracted more and more attention. The traditional sulfuric acid alkylation unit uses alkali water washing process to purify the acidic substances in the products, which not only increases the acid consumption of the unit, but also produces a large amount of salt containing wastewater. Aiming at the discharge of a large amount of waste alkaline water produced by the alkali and water wash in the traditional sulfuric acid alkylation unit, two type of key separation technologies, including the coalescence technology of high emulsified acid-hydrocarbon mixture and the adsorption technology of multi-form sulfide, were investigated. A coalescence-adsorption coupling green process was developed and an industrial demonstration device was built, realizing zero discharge of wastewater, 10% reduction in acid consumption, and 8% reduction in energy consumption. This technology can replace the original alkali and water wash unit, and greatly improve the advanced nature and environmental protection property of the sulfuric acid alkylation unit.
