Achievement: Application of Formaldehyde Decomposition Multifunctional Wall Material for Improving Indoor Air Environment

Introduction: At present, indoor air pollutants such as formaldehyde from indoor renovation process generally exceed the national exposure standards. Poor indoor air environment can cause minor to serious and even life-threatening health problems. Increasingly more indoor spaces need effective environmental technologies to improve the indoor air quality.
In this project, we developed a scientific formula technology to degrade harmful gases (such as formaldehyde) from the actual production process. We creatively extract the effective formula for formaldehyde degradation by reusing the filtered diatomaceous earth residue in the soy sauce factory. In this way, we not only reuse the waste materials, but also innovatively developed an environmentally friendly formula for formaldehyde degradation.The muti-functional wall material with formaldehyde degradation function developed by reused waste materials can effectively remove harmful gases (such as formaldehyde) in the air and therefore improve the indoor air quality. After being applied to the wall surface, the muti-functional wall material with formaldehyde degradation function can keep degrading formaldehyde, remove indoor odor, adjust indoor humidity, prevent mold and antibacterial colonisation, and provide thermal insulation effect.
