Achievement: Radar Quantitative Precipitation Estimation and Short-Term Storm Nowcasting Research

Introduction: This study addresses the problem of lack of precipitation nowcasting data and insufficient spatial and temporal accuracy for flash flood forecasting in typical watersheds in the eastern part of the Helan Mountains in Ningxia. Based on the multi-source data of ground, satellite and radar observation data, a 2-hour high-precision deep learning precipitation nowcasting model with high spatial and temporal resolution and a 6-hour 1km short-time forecast model based on WRF model are constructed. Through the research of this project, the spatial and temporal accuracy of the precipitation nowcasting model is improved, laying a solid foundation for accurate flood forecasting.
