Project Name: Study on the Function of Plant Secondary Metabolites in Disease Resistance of Crops

Project Owner: School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Project Profile: Plants can produce a variety of secondary metabolites with low molecular weight, and these compounds can help plants resist the infection of exogenous pathogens and improve the resistance of plants. This project intends to co-operate with Burapha University in Thailand to identify and isolate to the secondary metabolites of plant which could improve its resistance by studying the key way of crop resistance signaling pathway. Based on this theory, effective and safe strategies for crop disease control have been discussed which has important theoretical and practical significance for crop resistance improvement breeding in the future.
