Project Name: Salty /Brackish Water Drip Irrigation Technology

Project Profile: The research has lasted for more than 15 years. Through long-term, systematic, continuous experimental study, it was found that the agronomic measures of ridge farming and land cover, the soil matrix potential at characteristic point controlled at a certain threshold, could effectively maintain the salt balance in the soil, and will not cause the salt accumulation in the soil. Moreover, the high soil matrix potential could effectively compensate the decreased soil osmotic potential caused by the salinity in irrigation water, the effect of salinity on yield was obviously reduced, and crop yield was significantly higher than that with existing technology. And the regulation method of salt in salt water and brackish water was put forward and saline/brackish water drip irrigation technologies for tomato, cucumber, waxy corn, oil sunflower, cotton, Chinese wolfberry, Chinese rose and more than 10 kinds of plants were established. The technology have been international self-contained. It is simpler and more accurate than the previous water and salt regulation method.
